Reducing Exposure to Breaches through Audit and Compliance (Blog Series Part 4)
When a cyber breach occurs, the fallout impacts the entire organization. There can be theft of company secrets, regulatory fines, loss of revenue from negative brand reputation, and the termination and departure of the senior-most people in the company.
And so audit and compliance around network access must be a board level topic. Prudent organizations are already executing on initiatives to keep them safe – the others we get to use as cautionary tales.

February is a busy month for Simeio. We're proud to be a Gold Sponsor at the 17th Annual Privacy and Security Conference, February 3–5 in Victoria, BC. Simeio's own Asif Savvas will be speaking on the "Concurrent Panel Session: Panel B – Digital Identities in the Digital Economy" on Friday at 11am. This panel will look at how various forms of online identity – ranging from social media profiles to unique online identifiers – have developed in recent years, and the impact these new "digital identities" and "identity tokens" have had on the ways individuals interact with each other, private organizations, and the state. In particular, this panel will consider the extent to which the private sector should be involved in the creation and management of online identities and whether – given how much of our personal and working lives are now lived online – there is a need for greater state involvement in this increasingly important area. If you're in the area we'd love to see you at the event, which is a must attend for those working in the privacy and security field.
